Making an air dry clay jewelry and trinket tray

I used DAS Air Dry Clay, Liquitex Acrylics and Gesso Varnish.

I was inspired by posts on Instagram that I've been seeing lately of capybaras in a bathtub.

I formed a thick base and attached walls with a long roll of clay. The bush was created by making a ball of clay and attaching small leaf shaped pieces in two rows.

Applied a gesso and started with the color orange.

Green for the meadow. I decided against painting a pond to make it less visually busy for the jewelry.

Put some accents like flowers and leaves.

The tray with jewelry. It was a surprisingly easy process. I've always wanted to create something cute and quirky like this. I think I'll try making more.
